Walking your dog in Chelsea
Chelsea is genuinely one of Manhattan's best neighborhoods for a dog. The standout is the Chelsea Waterside dog park, along Eleventh Avenue at West 23rd Street inside Hudson River Park. Recently expanded to around 7,400 square feet, it has separate areas for large and small dogs, canine water-spray features for warm days, and open views of the Hudson.
Just to the west, the Hudson River Park greenway gives you long, uninterrupted stretches for a proper leashed walk along the water — a favorite for burning off energy away from traffic.
One useful local note: the High Line runs right through Chelsea, but dogs are not permitted on the elevated park. Kyle plans routes accordingly, sticking to the dog-friendly streets and waterfront that make Chelsea so walkable.
